Void Interactive has lost the publisher for his SWAT game Ready Or Need, after it was suggested in comments that it would include a shootout in a school.
The game was released on December 17 at the Early Access, but in a statement a few days later on Twitter divided Void Interactive that you have separated from Publisher Team17.
Void Interactive and Team17 have agreed mutual agreement that TEAM17 Ready or Need will no longer publish. We are confident that this is the right way for the future of Ready Or Not, TEAM17 thank for the partnership and wish you a lot of success with your game spectrum!
In a follow-up tweet, it says: We also want to assure all that we stick to our vision of Ready Or Not as a hardcore tactic shooter. We continuously scan the feedback from the players and will regularly publish patches / updates in the coming weeks and months.
Although no reasons have been mentioned so far, one of the developers of the game responded to a Reddit post asked if the game would contain a level with a school shooting, with the words: You can assume that it will be.
Ready Or Not is a shooter in which SWAT police units are called to defuse enemy and confrontal situations, as it is called on the steam side of the game.
Team17 gave a statement over Kodak:
Team17 Digital and Void Interactive have agreed by mutual agreement that Ready Or Not is no longer published by Team17 digitally, said a speaker of Team17. We wish the team of Void Interactive all the best for the future and the further development of the game. At the moment we have no further comment.
